Personal Development and Enrichment Opportunities
At The Cambridge Primary School, we believe that education is about more than academic achievement alone. Alongside a strong focus on teaching and learning, we are committed to nurturing confident, curious and caring individuals who are ready for life beyond the classroom. Our Personal Development offer sits at the heart of everything we do, helping every child to develop the character, values and experiences they need to thrive now and in the future.
Our approach to personal development is built on a positive, relational culture where every member of our school community is treated with kindness, respect and high expectations. We take a deliberate approach to developing pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding (SMSC), weaving opportunities for reflection, discussion and growth throughout the curriculum and wider school life.
Through our assemblies, PSHE curriculum and everyday interactions, children are encouraged to:
- Reflect on their own beliefs, feelings and experiences, and understand and respect those of others
- Understand the difference between right and wrong, and apply this understanding in their own lives
- Build positive relationships, work collaboratively and contribute to their local and wider community
- Appreciate and celebrate diversity, in our school and in modern Britain
We want every child to leave The Cambridge Primary School not only as a confident learner, but as a thoughtful, resilient and responsible young citizen.
