PE Uniform (all years)

Children can come to school wearing their named PE kit, other than reception children who must come to school in uniform and bring PE kit in a separate bag.

The following items should be worn:

  • Purple branded polo shirt
  • Black shorts/tracksuit bottoms (weather dependant)
  • Black hoodie or optional branded Cambridge hoody
  • Suitable footwear e.g. trainers (not boot trainers)

Long hair should be tied back, and all jewellery should be removed prior to PE lessons. Sleepers and stud earrings are allowed to be worn to school, but they must be non-jewelled and the child must be able to remove them for PE lessons. If your child needs to keep earrings in for any reason i.e. if they have been recently pierced, ears must be sufficiently taped before they come to school. Teachers will not be able to do this for them.

National guidance states "If the teachers consider the taping to be unsatisfactory to permit safe participation, they will need to make adaptions in terms of how the student takes part in the practical aspects of the lesson."

All branded garments are available at Edgar Jerome Ltd. Non-branded garments may also be available from Edgar Jerome Ltd but also available at many supermarkets and high street stores.

Please label everything with your child’s name.

Other Requirements

Since safety is a prime consideration, sensible shoes should be worn during the school day.

Trainers and boots are not considered appropriate footwear for wear throughout the school day.

Hair should be uniformly of a natural colour.

Hair styles involving shaven sides, obvious ‘steps’ and/or razor lines are not acceptable, hair should be ‘blended’. Hair Gel is not allowed. Coloured hair braids are not permitted and all long hair should be tied up. If a child comes to school with an inappropriate hairstyle we will call their parents and expect them to collect their child to resolve the hair style.

Sleepers and stud earrings are allowed to be worn to school, but they must be non-jewelled and the child must be able to remove them for P.E. lessons. Single earrings are not permitted.

If you decide you want your child to have pierced ears, we recommend doing this over the summer holidays to avoid any issues at school.

During unusually hot weather, appropriate adjustments may be made to the uniform requirements – you will be informed on these occasions.

Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring their child complies with the school uniform.
