End of Key Stage 1 Assessment
At the end of Year 2, schools submit assessment data for the children to the Local Education Authority which is then recorded nationally.
The data is for attainment in reading, writing, maths and science.
Teachers are required to build a picture of a child’s attainment through collecting evidence from a range of sources to meet the teacher assessment framework in reading, writing, maths and science.
Evidence is taken from independent class work and from test papers called SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) that the children sit during May.
