Cambridge Citizens
At The Cambridge Primary School, we believe that leadership and responsibility are skills to be nurtured from the earliest years. Our Cambridge Citizens programme brings together the different pupil leadership roles across our school, giving children the opportunity to take on responsibility, develop their voice and make a genuine difference to school life.
School Council
Our School Council gives every class a voice in shaping our school. Elected by their peers, School Council representatives meet regularly to discuss ideas, raise concerns and lead on initiatives that improve our school community — from environmental projects to charity fundraising. Through this role, children develop skills in leadership, teamwork and democratic participation, while ensuring pupil voice remains central to decision-making at The Cambridge Primary School.
Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs)
Our Junior Road Safety Officers play a vital role in promoting road safety awareness across our school community. JRSOs lead campaigns and activities to help pupils, families and visitors travel to and from school safely, encouraging safe walking, cycling and scooting habits. This responsibility helps children develop a strong sense of community awareness and the confidence to lead important safety messages among their peers.
House Captains
Our House Captains lead their house teams with energy and enthusiasm, encouraging participation, teamwork and good sportsmanship across our house events and competitions. As role models within their house, House Captains help build a sense of belonging and healthy competition, motivating pupils of all ages to get involved and do their best.
Sports Leaders
Our Sports Leaders promote physical activity, teamwork and healthy lifestyles throughout our school community. They take an active role in organising and leading games at playtimes and lunchtimes, supporting younger pupils to get involved in sport, and helping to run school sporting events. Through this responsibility, Sports Leaders build confidence, communication skills and a genuine passion for encouraging others to be active, embodying the values of fair play and sportsmanship.
Digital Leaders
Our Digital Leaders support the safe, responsible and confident use of technology across our school. They play an active role in promoting online safety, helping to lead assemblies and activities during events such as Safer Internet Day, and supporting their peers and younger pupils to understand how to stay safe online. Digital Leaders also help showcase how technology can be used creatively and effectively to support learning, championing digital skills as an essential part of modern education.
